Chihuahua, Mexico was rocked by a tremendous rain of stones on February 8, 1969. Thousands of stones both large and small fell in a wide area. These stones would quickly be recognized as a rarer type of chondrite called Carbonaceous.These would have characteristics unique to a subclass the Vigarano type. They are rich in large chondrules and scattered through the matrix are irregular masses called Calcium Aluminum Inclusions or CAIs.
