Darwin Glass
Darwin Glass
Many craters around the world have glass which formed from the heat of the impact. But, the Mount Darwin Crater has glass which is quite different. Instead of being a black glass it is a grayish green. It is found with folds and twists as well as masses the look like large drops. Darwin glass is truly one of the most interesting of the impact melt glasses available to collectors.
Specimen catalog numbers starting with FD are numbered specimens from the Darryl Futrell Collection of Tektites.
