NWA 7831 is a beautiful green color typical of the mineral Diogenite. The meteorite is reminiscent of Tatahouine though NWA 7831 has Diogenite crystals that appear less opaque. Many of the crystals exhibit a bright sheen on their cleaved faces. Diogenites are members of the HED group of achondrite meteorites which are believed to originate from the asteroid Vesta. The total recovered amount of this meteorite is estimated at 20 kilograms.
