Total Known Weight: 75 kilograms
On March 11, 2023, a fireball was seen and heard in El Menia. Over a hundred stones we recovered with an estimated total known weight of 75 kg. El Menia stone meteorite has been classified as an L5 ordinary chondrite.
The recovered stones were sub-gram to kilogram sized. There were complete individuals fully or partially covered in fusion crust. Others upon hitting Earth, acquired sand debris. And some tiny fragments with exposed interiors were reported. Some stones have a fusion crust that appears slightly bluish in color.
