We are offering cabochons made from the lunar meteorite Bechar 010. These lunar cabochons are the perfect choice for both the professional jeweler and the home jewelry maker who is looking for something rare and exotic. The cabochon moon necklace or pendant can be wire wrapped or set in a setting with prongs or a bezel.
In contrast to our chondrite meteorite cabochon which is created from precisely cut and shaped aluminium-marked slices, the moon meteorite cabochons are crafted to be the largest they can be. The process involves shaping and polishing the irregular, bumpy pieces of lunar meteorite. Given that the material is precious and rare, a slight roughness might be observed along the base edge.
The shapes might be more unstructured and asymmetrical compared to our usual cabochons, as the aim is to preserve the material and produce the largest cabochons feasible. The stone itself is robust and achieves an impressive polish, however, it is still advisable to be cautious and prevent it from being hit as it is a lunar feldspathic breccia.
