NWA 16315 Meteorite For Sale
Northwest Africa 16315 was found in Mauritania and was purchased from a meteorite dealer in 2023. NWA 16315 consisted of a single partially fusion-crusted and oriented stone. The total known weight of NWA 16315 is 785 grams. NWA 16315 was classified by J.T. Mitchell at the University of Minnesota as a lunar melt breccia meteorite.
NWA 16315 exhibits partial fusion crust and orientation. Flow lines are visible on the meteorite’s exterior. When sliced and polished, the interior of NWA 16315 reveals a dark gray interior with white areas and glassy feldspathic melt. Olivine grains are observed in the melt, presenting as needle-like crystals.
