SAU 001 meteorites are part of the low-iron chemical group of ordinary chondrites and lightly weathered. Individuals of this meteorite are often brown, with their interiors revealing moderate-sized chondrules. Some oxide rims and veins can be observed around the metal in the meteorite. Sayh al Uhaymir 001 meteorites are also lightly shocked.
