NWA 16315 Meteorite For Sale

Northwest Africa 16315 was found in Mauritania and was purchased from a meteorite dealer in 2023. NWA 16315 consisted of a single partially fusion-crusted and oriented stone. The total known weight of NWA 16315 is 785 grams. The main mass is held by Craig Zlimen. NWA 16315 was classified by J.T. Mitchell at the University of Minnesota as a lunar melt breccia meteorite.

NWA 16315 exhibits partial fusion crust and orientation. Flow lines are visible on the meteorite’s exterior. When sliced and polished, the interior of NWA 16315 reveals a dark gray interior with white areas and glassy feldspathic melt. Olivine grains are observed in the melt, presenting as needle-like crystals.
