El Médano 395 was found in Chile in 2018. Steve Arnold found a
2,288-gram stone near the top of a large hill in the Atacama Desert. El Médano 395 is a brachinite meteorite, a class of primitive achondrites. Brachinite meteorites are olivine-rich and are considered to be essentially unshocked.
The El Médano 395 meteorite is a dark stone with a rich, red-brown
interior. Cut faces of the meteorite reveal some light clasts and even some interlocking crystals. The exteriors of the meteorites sport a weathered patina.
