NWA 4799 Aubrite Meteorites For Sale

Northwest Africa 4799 is an aubrite that was purchased by meteorite dealer G. Hupé from a Moroccan dealer in 2007. NWA 4799 consisted of 86 stones and fragments weighing a total of 365 grams and was classified as an EH-melt rock.

NWA 4799 stones have some remnant fusion crust and are light brown in color. Their interior reveals that the stones are brecciated igneous rock. In 2019, NWA 4799 was reclassified as an EH-melt rock after scientists found that they resembled samples originating from EH chondritic parent bodies. Other clues, including the presence of metal and troilite inclusions within enstatite grains, suggested that NWA 4799 formed by complete melting.
