Sikhote-Alin Meteorite Fall - February 12, 1947 Primorskiy kray, Russia Iron IIAB Sikhote-Alin Individuals Looking just like you would think an iron meteorite should look this Sikhote Alin individuals are great. The size of thumbprinting on meteorites us directly related to the size of the individual mass so these resemble the iron meteorites seen in museum only in minature. Sikkote Alins are from Siberia and fell February 1947 in a tremendous meteoric event. They are coarsest octahedrites. Many small Sikhote Alin meteorites will show surfaces that have been ablated passing through the atmosphere.
