Australite Lenses occur when a small australite is ablated too much. It can form a tektite that has a form very similar to that of a lens. It does not have a flange when found. It may have had a flange at some point in its passage through the atmosphere but that flange if it existed has detached prior to landing. These lens shaped tektites are often quite small. But, they have a shape that makes them hard to confuse with other australite forms.
